Legal education and crime prevention

From May 27 to May 29, 2025, a series of meetings with students on the prevention of offenses and crimes was held at all faculties. The speakers were specialists of the Gorki District Department of Internal Affairs: A.I. Redinova, senior operative of the cybercrime group; A.I. Starovoitov, senior operative of the drug control and anti-trafficking group; Detective of the drug control and anti-trafficking group V.S. Chernikov; district inspector E.V.Kuzmenkov.

Employees of the internal affairs department highlighted the issues of responsibility for the trafficking of narcotic drugs and their analogues. They focused on crimes against the sexual inviolability of minors. Students were engaged in active dialogue and elaborated on the topic of "easy money."

A.I. Redinova informed that from May 26 to June 4, 2025, the Republican preventive action "Guarding digital security" is being held on the territory of the Gorki district. She dwelled in detail on the prevention of cybercrimes, fraudulent and hooligan actions on the Internet, and gave practical recommendations for the safe use of social networks. The officer spoke about the most common fraudulent schemes.

She emphasized that in order to protect ourselves and our money, we need:

- To avoid giving our bank payment card details, codes from SMS, as well as our passport details;

- not to issue loans at the request of third parties;

- not to install programs at the request of third parties;

- not to transfer funds to a "protected account";

- not to follow links from strangers.

In case of detection of a bank payment card lost by someone, you should not upload its photo on the Internet in order to find the owner. The information available in the bank payment card image is enough to perform transactions using this data without the knowledge of the bank card holder, which can be used by cybercriminals.
