Northern Regions Education Forum: «International Symposium on Higher Education under Green and Low-Carbon Development»

From September 26 to 28, the conference "Educational Forum of the Northern Regions: International Conference on Green Building and Low Carbon Technologies" was held at the Inner Mongolia University of Technology (People's Republic of China, Inner Mongolia Province), dedicated to the development of education quality. It was attended by more than 200 experts, scientists and business representatives from China, Spain, Great Britain, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan and Indonesia. The Academy was represented at this forum by Vitaly Viktorovich Velikanov, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations and Pre-University Training Alexander Viktorovich Pashkevich and Yuri Nikolaevich Dubrova, Dean of the Faculty of Land Reclamation and Construction.

At the opening ceremony, Vitaly Velikanov, Rector of the Academy, made a welcoming speech and a report on the topic "Implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative in the Sphere of Education." He also signed an agreement with the Technological University of Inner Mongolia on the creation of the International Innovation Research Center for Civil Engineering and the Environment.

During the round table, 11 rectors from China, Belarus, Kazakhstan and other countries discussed the topic "Experience of international exchanges and cooperation and international development of talents from domestic and foreign universities". The rector of the Academy shared his experience and views on this issue.   

Simultaneously with the meeting of the rectors, a round table was held, where representatives of China, Belarus and Uzbekistan discussed the interaction of educational institutions of different countries, intercultural communication of students from different countries and much more. This meeting was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of International Relations and Pre-University Education Alexander Pashkevich. He made a presentation on the topic "Areas of cooperation of the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy with educational institutions of the People's Republic of China".

On September 28, 2024, a forum on the development of civil engineering in the countries of the Belt and Road Initiative was held at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Technological University of Inner Mongolia. Within the framework of this forum, an "Agreement on the International Innovation Center for Environmental Civil Construction" was signed, and Yuri Dubrova, Dean of the Faculty of Land Reclamation and Construction, made a report "Prospects for the development of the construction industry in the Republic of Belarus".

At a meeting with representatives of the Technological University of Inner Mongolia, issues arising from the submission of the joint scientific project "Polyfunctional concrete with an electrically conductive coating modified with carbon nanomaterial" were discussed. This project is now under consideration in the Belarusian Republican Foundation for Fundamental Research. A plan of interaction between educational institutions in the implementation of a joint scientific project was agreed on.

In addition to participating in the forum, as part of a business trip, meetings were held with 3 educational institutions of the People's Republic of China:

- Vocational College of Agricultural University of Inner Mongolia;

- Vocational College of Construction of Inner Mongolia;

- Vocational College of Business of Inner Mongolia.

When meeting with the administration of the Professional College of Business of Inner Mongolia, issues related to advanced training of college teachers on the basis of the academy were discussed. As a result of the conversation, agreements were reached according to which 12 college teachers will arrive at the academy at the end of October 2024 for an internship on the topic "Innovative elements in economic and business management".

During a meeting with representatives of the Vocational Technical College of the Agricultural University of Inner Mongolia, questions arose during the training of college teachers in postgraduate school at the academy (in 2024, 8 college teachers had already entered postgraduate school). Agreements were reached on the direction of the second team of teachers (11 persons) for training in this direction. Also during the meeting, the interaction of representatives of two educational institutions on cooperation within the framework of the joint educational programme under the "3 + 2 + 1" scheme, which was signed in July 2024 during the visit of representatives of the college to the academy, was discussed. Curricula for 9 specialties of the college have been agreed on, for which training is possible within the framework of a joint educational programme.

During the meeting with representatives of the Vocational College of Construction of Inner Mongolia, Chinese colleagues got the information about training specialties and living conditions for Chinese citizens in the BSAA. In turn, the Chinese party acquainted the representatives of the academy with the material and technical base of the college and the specialties for which specialists are being trained. During the meeting, an agreement was signed on the creation of a joint educational programme under the "3 + 3" scheme in the specialty 7-07-0732-01 "Construction of buildings and structures," which makes it possible to receive in-depth higher education for the citizens of China.

The business trip once again demonstrated the interest of our Chinese part-ners in developing close multifaceted cooperation in the educational sphere. The growing interest of Chinese citizens who want to get an education at our academy is a good confirmation of this.
