A Visit to the People's Republic of China

From March 22 to April 5, 2024, the dean of the faculty of international relations and pre-university education Alexander Pashkevich had a business trip to the People's Republic of China. The purpose of the trip was to conduct career guidance work in educational institutions and companies in the city of Hohhot, Inner Mongolia province.

The business trip route passed through the city of Tashkent, the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan. During the stay in this country, meetings were held with representatives of 3 educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan:

- Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers;

- Tashkent University of Architecture and Construction;

- Tashkent State Agrarian University.

During the meetings, such issues were discussed as:

• familiarization with the faculties, specialties and material and technical base of BSAA (a film about the academy was shown);
• discussion of the possibility of teaching Uzbek citizens the Russian language;
• discussion of interaction issues in obtaining general and advanced higher education;
• discussion of the possibility of creating joint educational programmes under the 2 + 2 scheme in similar specialties;
• discussion of the possibility of advanced training of teachers of Uzbek educational institutions at the Academy.

While being in China, meetings were held with representatives of 5 educational institutions and 2 companies.

During the visit to the Professional College of Business of Inner Mongolia, issues related to the training of the college teachers in postgraduate school in Belarus, their advanced training on the basis of the academy were discussed. The possibility of creating a joint educational programme under the "3 + 2 + 1" scheme, which will allow Chinese students to receive general and advanced higher education at the academy, was also considered. In May 2024, representatives of the Professional College of Business of Inner Mongolia will pay a return visit to the educational establishment "Belarusian State the Orders of the October Revolution and the Labour Red Banner Agricultural Academy".

During the meeting with representatives of the Vocational Technical College of Construction of Inner Mongolia, the Chinese colleagues were familiarized with the specialties of training and living conditions for Chinese citizens in the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy. In turn, the Chinese party acquainted the representatives of the academy with the material and technical base of the college and the specialties in which students are trained. During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of further cooperation between two educational institutions in the field of teaching Russian to the college students by teachers of the academy, as well as training in a joint educational programme under the "3 + 3" scheme in the specialty 7-07-0732-01 "Construction of buildings and structures," which allows to receive advanced higher education for Chinese citizens. The Chinese side has shown interest in developing bilateral ties. The draft agreement on interaction between our educational institutions has been submitted to the Chinese side for approval.

A meeting was held with representatives of the Vocational College of the Agricultural University of Inner Mongolia, during which issues arose on the training of college teachers in postgraduate school at the academy (in 2024, 8 college teachers had already entered the postgraduate school). Agreements were reached on the continuation of cooperation in this direction. The interaction of representatives of two educational institutions on cooperation within the framework of the joint educational programme under the "3 + 2 + 1" scheme has also been agreed. The draft agreement has been submitted to the Chinese side for study.

During the meetings with representatives of the Technological University of Inner Mongolia and the University of Agriculture of Inner Mongolia, the possibilities of interaction in the implementation of joint scientific projects and programmes, the participation of representatives in conferences, as well as the creation of joint laboratories on the basis of the academy were discussed.

During a visit to Inner Mongolia Kingguider educational and technology Co., Ltd. the possibility of organizing the study of the Russian language by students of secondary schools in the Inner Mongolia province of the People's Republic of China was discussed, as well as assisting this company in the further admission of these citizens to the academy to get general higher education.

When visiting Mengcao Ecological and Environmental Group Co., Ltd, issues of interaction between representatives of this company and scientists of the academy in the implementation of joint scientific projects were discussed. Professor Wang Mingju, Yuan Feng, general manager of the group's subsidiary, and Liu Yaling, head of international projects, attended the meeting. The problems of the possibility of building a molecular genetic laboratory at the academy were discussed as well.

The trip once again demonstrated that the People's Republic of China is our strategic partner and is interested in developing close cooperation in the educational field.
