A Visit to the People's Republic of China
From December 18 to December 27, 2023, the delegation of the educational establishment "Belarusian State the Orders of the October Revolution and the Labour Red Banner Agricultural Academy" visited the People's Republic of China. The delegation was headed by the rector of the academy Vitaly Velikanov. It also included the Dean of the Faculty of International Relations and Pre-University Education Alexander Pashkevich. During the trip, the delegation visited 3 cities located in three different provinces of the southern part of the People's Republic of China: Chengdu City - Sichuan Province, Guiyang City - Guijou Province and Kunming City - Yunnan Province.
During the visit, 6 educational institutions of the People's Republic of China were visited, namely 3 universities, 2 colleges and 1 professional school.
On December 20, a meeting was held with representatives of the University of Electronic Sciences and Technologies of China. During this event, those present were familiarized with the faculties, specialties and material and technical base of BSAA. The conditions for teaching Chinese citizens the Russian language and the possibility of interaction on obtaining higher education and doing postgraduate courses by students of the Chinese University at the Academy were discussed. Following the discussion, a cooperation agreement was signed between the two educational institutions.
On December 21, a meeting was held with the administration of the Kunming Metallurgical College. During the meeting, information was presented on the progress of cooperation between educational establishments under the joint educational programme 3 + 2 in the specialties 6-05-0532-03 "Land management and cadastrals" and 6-05-0811-03 "Land reclamation and water management". Some problematic issues that had arisen during the implementation of this programme and ways to solve them were discussed as well. The possibility of increasing the number of specialties in which training will be held within the framework of this programme was considered.
Rector of the Academy met with the participants of the joint educational programme, and answered all the questions related to the training and stay of Chinese students in the territory of the Republic of Belarus. Certificates were awarded indicating that students are the participants in this joint educational programme between the educational institution "Belarusian State the Orders of the October Revolution and the Labour Red Banner Agricultural Academy" and the Kunming Metallurgical College.
On December 22, during a visit to the Guiyang School of Economics and Technology, the delegation of the Academy presented training and accommodation opportunities for Chinese citizens at BSAA. In turn, the Chinese party introduced the representatives of the academy to the material and technical base of the school and to the specialties in which students are being trained. During the meeting, the possibilities of further cooperation between our educational institutions in the field of teaching the Russian language and obtaining general higher education for Chinese citizens at the academy were discussed.
As a result of the visit, an agreement on cooperation with the Guiyang School of Economics and Technology was signed.
On December 24, during a meeting with representatives of the Guizhou Province Vocational and Technical College of Electronic Information, the parties discussed the possibility of teaching the college students Russian by the academy's teachers, as well as training in a joint 3 + 2 educational programme in matching specialties. The Chinese side has shown interest in developing bilateral ties. The meeting of the rector of the academy with students also took place, during which answers were given to all questions related to training, living in a hostel and stay of students from China in the territory of the Republic of Belarus.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement on cooperation was signed between the educational institution "Belarusian State the Orders of the October Revolution and the Labour Red Banner Agricultural Academy" and the vocational and technical college of electronic information of Guizhou Province.
On December 25, a meeting was held with the managers of the Guizhou University of Commerce, during which the university leaders showed interest in organizing the training of Chinese students in the Russian language, doing postgraduate studies at the academy by graduates of the Chinese university, as well as organizing joint educational programmes on 2 + 2 and 2 + 3 schemes in the specialties "Agribusiness," "Accounting, analysis and audit", and "Finance and Credit."
On December 26, a meeting was held with the Vice-Rector and Teachers of the Kunming University of Science and Technology, as a result of which the possibility of teaching Chinese citizens in the Russian language, issues of interaction in the training of bachelors and masters, postgraduate students, the possibility of exchanging teachers and their internship at BSAA, as well as areas of cooperation in the scientific field were discussed.
The results of the visit of the Belarusian delegation were widely covered in Chinese mass media.
The visit of the BSAA delegation once again demonstrated that the People's Republic of China is our strategic partner and is interested in developing close cooperation in the educational sphere.
