SCIENCE CITY KOLTSOVO - GORKI
On October 10, a representative delegation of the Novosibirsk region, headed by the governor of this Russian region Andrei Travnikov, started its official visit to Belarus. President Alexander Lukashenko met with the head of the delegation.
"Siberia is a special region for Belarusians. Since Catherine's times and Stolypin's tsarist reforms a lot of our fellow countrymen have lived here. With their minds and hearts, they are stuck to this land, they’ve glorified it, making it richer and more beautiful. Therefore, we are interested in everything that happens to you, " the Belarusian leader said while opening the meeting in Minsk at the Palace of Independence. The head of state expressed confidence that the visit of the Novosibirsk region delegation to our country will open a new page in cooperation between Belarusian and Russian regions.
Representatives of the science city of Koltsovo, headed by Mayor Nikolai Krasnikov, also arrived as part of the Novosibirsk regional delegation. The delegation also included the director of LLC “Mikoprom” A.S.Mishina and the head of the Koltsovo Innovation Center A.P.Linyushin.
The name of this region, which was the first to receive the status of a science city in Russia, as well as the name of the mayor, are well known in Gorki and our academy, in particular. On January 24, 2019, an agreement was signed in the Mogilev Region Executive Committee to establish twinning ties between the Belarusian Gorki and the Russian science city of Koltsovo. That time, Mayor Nikolai Krasnikov was warmly welcomed at the BSAA. The meeting took place in a large conference room. Despite the fact that our regions are thousands of kilometers apart, Gorki and Koltsovo combine common interests in up-to-date innovative approaches in the development of new industries; commercialization of scientific developments; increasing the impact of the scientists' achievements on the harmonious development of administrative territories and much more.
Last January, the scientific city of Koltsovo was visited by a delegation of the Gorki district, headed by the rector of the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy Vitaly Velikanov.
During that visit, long-term contacts were established with representatives of not only the Koltsovo administration, but also employees of the biotechnopark, which, within the framework of the initiatives of the government of the Novosibirsk region and the administration of the science city, became a research and production platform for development companies. The territory of the biotechnopark is provided with all the necessary engineering infrastructure to accommodate innovative projects in the field of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, the production of medical devices, etc.
During last year's visit of the delegation from Gorki and the meeting of Koltsovo Mayor N.G.Krasnikov with Rector of the Academy V.V. Velikanov, prospects and directions of cooperation were discussed, including the exchange of experience in the educational and research fields.
Yesterday, on October 10, Vitaly Velikanov and Nikolai Krasnikov met at the main entrance of educational building No. 10 as good old friends. Guests from Koltsovo were also greeted by Vice-Rector for Scientific Work Yuri Tibets and Head of the Research Institute Alexander Ivanistov. The chairman of the Gorki District Council of Deputies Maxim Potapenko accompanied the delegation of the Russian twin city. Throughout the academic route of acquaintance with the leading Belarusian agrarian university, the guests did not hide their admiration from what they saw.
An extensive programme was prepared for Russian friends that helped to emphasize business cooperation between our regions in various fields and industries.
During a meeting in the Gorki District Executive Committee, in which the rector of the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy Vitaly Velikanov took part, the head of the presidential "vertical" Mikhail Guly and the head of the administration of the town of Koltsovo Nikolai Krasnikov signed an Action Plan for 2024-2026 and an Agreement on the establishment of twinning ties. The rector of the academy V.V. Velikanov and the director of LLC "Mikoprom" Anna Mishina signed an agreement on cooperation in the development and testing of biological means of protection for the agricultural sector of the economy.
On October 11, Minsk will host the sixth meeting of business cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Novosibirsk region of the Russian Federation.
