HAPPY TEACHER'S DAY!

Dear colleagues!
On Sunday, October 1, our country celebrates one of the brightest and most peaceful holidays - Teacher's Day. This holiday for many decades unites different generations of Belarusians into one highly educated family. In independent Belarus, this professional holiday was established by Presidential Decree of March 26, 1998. But in fact, it has been celebrated on the first Sunday of October since Soviet times - since 1965.
On these holidays, the words "teacher" and "school" begin to play with new colors. Speaking at a recent meeting at the Palace of Independence on improving the educational sphere, in which the rectors of Belarusian universities also took part, the head of state, in particular, said: "The school is a temple. This, if you like, is the whole sacred meaning... The school is laying the foundation for the future of not just a citizen, but a person. "
It really is. We do not always think about the fact that throughout our lives we all are surrounded by teachers. They are the ones who have always been treated with special respect. Therefore, the word "Teacher" is often written with a capital letter. The high authority of the teacher has survived till these days. This is still the key to a successful development of the state. Teachers have always had an honorable and responsible mission. It is not only giving the younger generation solid knowledge, but also educating them in the spirit of citizenship and patriotism, teaching to love and appreciate our history, traditions of the Belarusian people. In our difficult time, this mission of the teachers increases multiple.
In Belarus, the educational sphere is given state importance. And it's no coincidence. According to the education level index, our country ranks 32nd in the world. And for such an indicator as "Access to basic knowledge," we hold the 17th position among 163 countries. The educational process never stands still. A clear example of this is our academy - the highest multidisciplinary agrarian educational establishment with its modern material and technical base and highly professional teaching staff.
Returning to the meeting, I'd like to remind you that Alexander Lukashenko spoke about the need to improve the education system in the country, referring not only to the school where they teach to read and write. But also, the school in its broadest sense. In particular, the higher education system, the main task of which, as required by the President, is that "Belarusian youth should be provided with conditions for professional development and formation in their own country. The task for this is to solve the following: to determine the mechanism of operation of the secondary school and universities for the future. The most talented and promising applicants should be in demand in their homeland."
When visiting the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy in 1995, President of independent Belarus Alexander Lukashenko left a record in the academic museum. It has these lines: "I am proud of my belonging to my academy... My deep gratitude to my beloved teachers... " Teacher's Day is a good reason for each of us to at least mentally "kneel" before those to whom we owe the ascent to the heights of knowledge.
Happy holiday, dear friends! I wish you peace, good health, prosperity, confidence in the future and prosperity of our beloved homeland - the Republic of Belarus!
