HAPPY KNOWLEDGE DAY!

postgraduates of Belarusian State Agricultural Academy

Dear friends!

There are many iconic dates and events in the Calendar of History. But there is a special day among them, equally dear and understandable to everyone. This is September 1 - Knowledge Day.

Perhaps not everyone knows, but until 1935 there wasn't such a bright and favorite holiday in the former USSR. The Communists proposed to start a new school year throughout the country on September 1. And on June 15, 1984, this Day was enshrined by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. Since then, for decades, it is September 1 that unites people of different generations in our independent Belarus into a huge educational family. This holiday makes you remember the past, evaluate the present, and look confidently into your future.

"Education is the foundation of society, a pass for the state and the whole nation in tomorrow," these words belong to the President of Belarus, a graduate of our academy, Alexander Lukashenko. And this is what they echo with the famous statement of the Persian writer Keith-Cavus (1021-1098), who even then considered education to be the face of reason.

We are all witnesses and participants in successful public policy in the field of education. According to this indicator, our country ranks high in the world. For example, according to the education level index, Belarus holds 32nd position. And this process never stands still. Our academy, being a leading agricultural university, and a modern educational and scientific center, can also be an example of this. The academy is a laureate of the Government of the Republic in the field of quality (2021), and the winner of the Grand Prix of the International Business Prize "Leader of the Year 2022".

 We are not used to resting on our laurels. Moreover, on the eve of the start of the new academic year, during a meeting at the country's main university, where rectors of Belarusian universities participated, the Head of State set new, even higher tasks not only before BSU, but before the entire system of higher education as well. Taking into account these requirements, in the very near future the higher school will have a "reboot." Its result will completely depend on the personal participation of everyone who is related to the field of country's higher education in this process. We are aware that a higher educational establishment is not only the Temple of Knowledge and Science. It is also the most important link in the state ideological and educational work with young people, and not only.

But I agree with you. We will talk about this "tomorrow." And today the country is on the verge of one of the main holidays - Knowledge Day. It's a celebration of the first bell. And there is no difference in who it will sound for on September 1. For first graders who will cross the school threshold for the first time, and their teachers. Or for university freshmen and all the students who clearly understand their main task. Education is not just about investing in yourself and your future. This is an investment in the future of our country. Therefore, knowledge is always not easy to get. And they are highly valued.

Dear friends! Please, accept sincerest congratulations on the Day of Knowledge! I wish that studies always bring you a lot of useful and bright discoveries. Let every new day bring our respected students closer to the realization of their dream: to receive a prestigious diploma of the BSAA.

I wish good health, peaceful skies, prosperity and success to everyone who celebrates this day - September 1. I wish prosperity to our native Belarus!
