Meeting of graduates and the Day of Amelioration at the Faculty of Amelioration and Construction!

On June 3, 2023, the academy opened its doors for graduates. This has been a tradition for many years. It so coincided that on the first Sunday of June, a professional holiday is celebrated in Belarus - the Day of the Ameliorator, so there was a double holiday at the faculty of amelioration and construction. Ameliorator's Day was officially approved on May 24, 1976 by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR.

Graduates of different years from 1964 to 2018 came to the meeting, not only from Belarus, but also from the Russian Federation (Moscow, Murmansk, St. Petersburg, Veliky Novgorod). In total, more than 170 graduates came to the holiday.

Before the start of the solemn meeting, excursions were held for graduates in the Academy, and Botanical Garden. Graduates had a chance to see the material and technical base of the faculty.

In classroom No. 701, which in October 2019 was named after Mikhail Golchenko, Doctor of Technical Sciences, professor, a solemn meeting was held at which the Dean of the Faculty Yuri Dubrova made a welcoming speech. He spoke about the history and the development of the amelioration and construction faculty and about modern trends of its development as well. The Dean noted that the the quality of the educational process itself and its result - the quality of training of the future specialist and his successful adaptation to professional activities ultimately depends on quality of the teaching staff. Yu. Dubrova stressed that in order to increase the number of postgraduate students, international agreements on strategic cooperation and partnership are being implemented between the Volgograd State Agrarian University, the Russian State Agrarian K. A. Timiryazev University, and the Belarusian State the Orders of the October Revolution and the Labour Red Banner Agricultural Academy." On a professional holiday, Yu.Dubrova wished graduates good health, creative success as well as taking their most active position in the society.

Viktor Kopytovsky, Vice-Rector of the Academy, who is a graduate of the faculty, spoke to the graduates. He spoke about the material and technical base of the academy, wished all graduates good health, success in their work and not to forget their academy and their mentors. He also congratulated everyone on their professional holiday.

Igor Shkuratov, Deputy General Director of the Management Company "Mogilevvodstroy Holding", spoke on behalf of the graduates. He shared with everyone the information about state of affairs and prospects for the development of the reclamation industry in the Mogilev region. He spoke about his memories of his studies at the faculty, congratulated those present on their professional holiday, wished good health, good luck and new creative achievements to the graduates and the teachers.

Graduates of different years also addressed to those present with congratulatory words.They shared their memories of studying at the faculty, wished everyone good health, good luck, and one of them even did it in poetic form.

After the solemn meeting, the graduates proceeded to the large hall of the Cultural Centre of the Academy, where a concert took place.

On this day, all the graduates, the faculty staff, and guests received only positive emotions from communication and visiting the faculty, which will remain in their memory for many years and will allow them to meet again and again at the native faculty in our academy.
