Visit of BSAA Representatives to Uzbekistan

From May 9 to May 20, representatives of BSAA were visiting one of the most remote republics of Central Asia - Uzbekistan. The purpose of the trip was to conduct career guidance work with graduates of secondary schools of the Republic of Uzbekistan, familiarize them with the faculties, specialties and conditions of study at the Academy. The delegation consisted of A.V. Pashkevich, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations and Pre-University Education, and O.N. Tereshkova, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Linguistic Disciplines.

The work schedule in Uzbekistan was tight and busy. The cities that needed to be visited are located far from each other. The total length of the route was 1608 kilometres.

From May 10 to May 12, vocational guidance work was carried out with graduates of secondary schools in Samarkand.              

From May 13 to May 15 and May 18, career guidance work was carried out with graduates of secondary schools in Navoi.     

On May 16, career guidance work was carried out with graduates of three secondary schools in Bukhara.

On May 17, vocational guidance work was carried out with graduates of secondary school No. 1 in Zarafshan, Navoi region.    

During the meetings, those present were provided with an up-to-date information about the activities of the academy. Schoolstudents got acquainted learnt about:

the history of the academy;

the main achievements of the academy in the field of education;

its material and technical base;

names of faculties and specialties in which specialists are trained when receiving general higher education;

the possibility of further training to improve their qualifications after higher education;

living conditions for international students.

According to the results of visiting 47 secondary schools in Uzbekistan, about 1,500 school graduates learnt about the possibilities of studying at the academy.

During the business trip, cooperation was established with representatives of Samarkand, Navoi and Bukhara Hokimiyats, which makes it possible to simplify career guidance work in Uzbekistan.

When visiting some schools, meetings were held with their principals. During these conversations, they were familiarized with the advantages of studying at the Academy in comparison with other universities of the Republic of Belarus. School principals have been given career guidance materials about the academy, which will allow them to create information stands about our educational establishment.
