Students of the Northwestern University of Agriculture and Forestry (PRC) Undertake Internship at the Academy
On April 26, 2023, a new group of five undergraduates from Northwestern University of Agriculture and Forestry, Shaanxi Province, People's Republic of China, began their training at BSAA for a period of 6 months.
Students will undergo an internship in the specialty "Selection and seed production" with teaching in English. Galina Vitko, head of the department of selection and seed production, is a leading teacher. Scientific supervision is carried out by Alexander Ivanistov, head of the Academy's Research Unit. Students will be directly involved in conducting environmental tests of crops of Chinese selection, which will be carried out on the experimental fields of the academy. In 2023, 25 samples of agricultural crops were received from the Northwestern University of Agriculture and Forestry. On April 28, the first departure of students to the field for sowing took place.
In addition to selection and seed production, the students will study Russian language.
The mobility of Chinese students is carried out within the framework of projects for the development of talented youth of the PRC, which are one of the most relevant and important areas for the formation and development of the country's human capital.
This group is not the first students who came to study at the academy as part of a project of talented youth. In 2021 and 2022, the academy had invited 2 and then 8 students, who successfully completed an internship and returned to their native university.
We wish students from China getting knowledge and skills, and also getting acquainted with the language and culture of our country.
