An Honorable Mission of a Distinguished Guest
On the 4th of April, The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Belarus Timur Zhaksylykov visited the Academy.
The distinguished guest was warmly greeted by the rector of the BSAA Vitaly Velikanov. The Rector spoke about the main stages of the development of our university. Then, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Belarus got acquainted with the material and technical base of the academy, he visited modern centers and laboratories that demonstrate high standards of education and scientific research, and met with students and the staff of the Faculty of Economics.
In a solemn atmosphere in the lecture hall, where the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko received economic knowledge when being a student, Timur Zhaksylykov presented the Algys badge of the Assembly of People to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor of the BSAA Larisa Pakush.
During Larisa Pakush's work as the Ambassador (1997-2006), the political dialogue between the two countries took on a systematic nature, official visits of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to the Republic of Kazakhstan and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to Minsk were carried out. Both official visits and business meetings of the prime ministers of the two republics, as well as deputy prime ministers, ministers, and leaders of different levels repeatedly took place. Business meetings of representatives of exporting enterprises intensified. The material and technical base of the Embassy was created then. The national exhibitions of the Republic of Belarus in Kazakhstan became permanent. During her work, the trade between the republics grew more than 10 times.
At the end of his visit, Timur Zhaksylykov visited the museum of the BSAA and left a memorable entry in the book of honored guests. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Belarus expressed interest in a practice-oriented approach to training, which allows academy students to obtain relevant knowledge and skills necessary to solve problems in the modern agro-industrial complex. During the meeting, its participants also discussed the importance of scientific exchange and educational interaction between our countries, which opens up new horizons for the development of bilateral relations.
