A unique source of manpower
At the end of last week, Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Andrei IVANETS visited the BSAA as part of his working trip to Mogilev region
The rector Vitaly Velikanov acquainted the head of the Ministry with the history of higher education institution, its material and technical resources, including a permanent exhibition of scientific achievements of the academy, a branch of National bank of genetic resources of plants of the Republic Belarus, the educational and exhibition center of the agricultural equipment, machines, and units, laboratories of technical service of vehicles, and precise agriculture.
Andrei Ivanets visited the training courtroom, the laboratory of commodity science and the laboratory of commercial activities organization, as well as the resource center for spiritual and moral development "Voskhozhdenie".
During the working visit, the minister strove not only to see what the university is rightfully proud of, but also to communicate with its employees and students. Passing through the corridors of one of the training buildings, he looked into the office of laboratory assistants. He specified if there are any difficulties in work, if help or assistance is needed. After listening to the answer, he thanked the employees for many years of conscientious work. At a meeting with students of the Faculty of Agrotechnology, Andrei Ivanets was interested in what brought the guys from different parts of the country to the academy, whether they had been disappointed in their choice over the years of study, what plans they have for internship and further independent work.
The friendly attitude of the distinguished guest disposed to sincere answers. The communication turned out to be lively and interesting. In an informal atmosphere, everyone had the opportunity to ask questions of interest, express wishes or suggestions.
During his visit, the minister focused the management of the academy on more efficient use of human resources, close interaction with enterprises, as well as the need to strengthen career guidance. On the eve of the start of the admission campaign for correspondence education, Andrei Ivanets noted that it is ideal if "the applicant will first of all take place as a specialist: he will go to college and receive the appropriate specialty, then go to work at an enterprise, realize that it was the right choice and then will go to a shortened period of study for further professional growth."
Emphasis was also placed on the importance of the moral development of students. The minister stressed that young people need to be brought up on the primordial family values, because a strong family is the basis of the state. What Belarus will be like in the future largely depends on teachers, including those of higher education system, who have laid the foundations of traditional spiritual and moral values in young men and women.
"The Belarusian State Agricultural Academy is a unique source of manpower for the country's agro-industrial complex. The conditions for training, accommodation and leisure of the academy's students meet the highest modern requirements, " the Minister of Education summed up the results of the working trip.
