Belarus-China cooperation
RELIABLE PARTNERSHIP
On October 30, representatives of the Chinese educational company «Zhitai» and its Belarusian partner «Xing Lu» visited the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy.
The conversation touched upon the prospects for cooperation between the leading Belarusian agricultural university and its Chinese partners in the field of education. The Academy was represented by Rector Vitaly VELIKANOV, First Vice-Rector Andrei KOLMYKOV, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations and Pre-University Education Alexander PASHKEVICH, and his deputy Dmitry RACHIKOV. The Chinese delegation consisted of Wang Jipei, General Director of the educational company Zhitai; Zhang Xinwei, head of the international cooperation department of this company; Kou Xinxian, head of the department for cooperation between Chinese universities and Xiao Kaixian, representative of Xing Lu company in the Republic of Belarus.
- Vitaly Velikanov greeted the guests with a welcome speech. The Rector stressed that our Academy trains specialists in almost all agricultural specialties except veterinary medicine. We have a strong international cooperation: 160 contracts and agreements have been concluded with the world's leading universities and research institutions. "We are very interested in having students, as well as postgraduate students from China. We offer the study of the Russian language as the basis for continuing education at the academy, and we conduct master's courses in English as well. We are ready to cooperate with you and deepen our cooperation, "said the Rector.
Wang Jipei, CEO of the Chinese Educational Company Zhitai, for his part, expressed gratitude for the joint collaboration. During the conversation, specific forms and new projects were discussed, including those being implemented as part of a joint agreement between the academy and Kunmin College. According to the General Director, this particular project has become a good advertising campaign for Belarusian-Chinese cooperation in the field of education.
The parties also discussed working issues, including: expanding the number of participants in the joint Belarusian-Chinese project; professional training of Chinese teachers on the basis of the Academic Institution of Advanced Training and Retraining of Personnel; the possibilities of annual free tuition in China for at least 5 graduates of local secondary schools, whose interests could be represented by BSAA, etc.
As you know, between the Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of China there is an intergovernmental Agreement on the mutual recognition of documents on education and academic degrees. Leading Belarusian educational institutions are actively working to create joint educational programmes and structures with their Chinese partners. In total, more than 500 cooperation agreements between Belarus and China have been signed. The leading positions on the Belarusian-Chinese "track" are occupied by the Belarusian State the Orders of the October Revolution and the Labour Red Banner Agricultural Academy. The visit of the Chinese delegation to the academy once again confirms the increased interest in cooperation with the oldest institution of agrarian education and science.
