The internship of undergraduates from China continues

The internship of 8 undergraduates from the Northwestern University of Agriculture and Forestry (PRC) continues. The students have chosen the specialty "Selection and Seed Production." This time, to familiarize themselves with the infrastructure of the Academy, an educational excursion was organized during which undergraduates from the PRC got acquainted with the work of the Academy's educational, scientific, and production laboratories. The undergraduates also visited the ESC "Experimental Fields of the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy," namely the fields located in the village Goshch-Charny, the experimental field of the Department of Selection and Genetics, the drying facility of the Academy, the seed purification point. These infrastructure facilities are directly related to the specialty chosen by the undergraduates and their visits are an excellent addition to the educational process in classrooms.

The head of the ESC "Experimental Fields of the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy" G.I. Korobkin also demonstrated the harvest of Chinese wheat, which is undergoing an environmental test in the north-eastern part of Belarus. As part of a cooperation agreement with Northwestern University of Agriculture and Forestry (PRC) in the fall of 2019, 21 kg of Chinese wheat were obtained, and currently 3,500 kg have been harvested. In the future, wheat will be sorted and sown for further testing and selection of biotypes from the population of the variety most adapted to the soil-climatic conditions of Belarus.
