Dear colleagues,

On Sunday, October 2, our country will celebrate one of the brightest and most peaceful holidays - The Teacher's Day, which unites different generations of Belarusians into one highly educated family. In independent Belarus, this professional holiday was established by the Decree of the President of March 26, 1998. But in fact, this holiday is celebrated in the first Sunday of October since Soviet times, since 1965.

Throughout our lives, each of us is surrounded by teachers. These people have always been treated with special respect. Poet Nikolai Nekrasov in his dedication wrote "Teacher! Before your name, let me humbly kneel." These lines are still heard today on particularly solemn dates. And the word "Teacher" is very often written with a capital letter. The high authority of a teacher has survived to these days. It is still the key to the successful development of the state. Teachers always had an honorable and responsible mission. It is not only in giving the younger generation solid knowledge, but also in educating them in the spirit of citizenship and patriotism. The teachers' mission to teach to love and appreciate your history, traditions of the Belarusian people increases many times in our difficult time.

In Belarus, the state importance is given to the educational sphere. And it's no coincidence. According to the education level index, our country is ranked 32nd in the world. And for such an indicator as "Access to basic knowledge," we are in 17th place among 163 states. The educational process never stands still. A clear example of this is our academy - the highest multidisciplinary agrarian educational establishment with its modern material and technical base and highly professional teaching stuff.

Visiting the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy in 1995, the President of independent Belarus Alexander Lukashenko left a record in the academic museum. It has these lines: "I am proud of my belonging to my academy... My deep gratitude to my beloved teachers..."

The Teacher's Day is a good reason to "kneel" at least mentally before those to whom we owe the ascent to the heights of knowledge.

Happy holiday, dear friends! I wish you peace, good health, well-being, confidence in the future and I wish prosperity to our beloved homeland - the Republic of Belarus!
