The international essay competition at the Belarusian State University of Economics

From January 1 to February 28, 2022, the Belarusian State University of Economics hosted the International Competition of Illustrated Essays "I Want to Say About This...," in which foreign students, undergraduates, post-graduate students studying Russian took part.

The jury assessed the works of 48 students from 13 universities in Belarus and countries near and far abroad. Participants of the competition represented Minsk, Gorki, Grodno, Polotsk, St. Petersburg (Russia), Belgorod (Russia), Novosibirsk (Russia), Tokyo (Japan).

The purpose of the competition was to improve the culture of written speech of foreign students, broaden their horizons, develop creative abilities, and increase motivation to study the Russian language.

Among the winners and nominees of the competition there are our students.

Madina Makhsimova (1 year, group 1, Faculty of Economics) presented the work "Golden Autumn and Silver Winter in Belarus" and took 3rd position in the individual contest. The student's essay was supplemented by a collage of photographs from a personal archive.

Zhou Mengxuan (1 year, group 1, Faculty of Economics) received an award for his essay "On What Adorns Our Lives" in the nomination "Accuracy in the Expression of Thoughts."

The senior lecturer of the Department of Linguistic Disciplines of the Faculty of International Relations and Pre-University Education E.A. Safronova prepared the students to participate in the competition.
