"COVID Vaccination" Round Table

The pandemic of the new coronavirus COVID-19 has become a challenge for the whole world. The so-called "invisible enemy" has become a threat not only to human health, but also the cause of many fakes, legends and speculations. In such circumstances, obtaining objective and reliable information becomes particularly important.

Participants of the round table, which took place on November 17 at the Faculty of Business and Law, gathered to discuss the need for vaccination, and to answer students' questions. The event was attended by Vice-Rector for Educational Work M.V.Potapenko, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law N.A.Glushakova, representatives of the Coordinating Student Souncil Ruslan Vishnyak and Roman Kovtun, as well as teachers and students of the Faculty of Business and Law. Raisa Prudnikova, a doctor for medical prevention at the Gorki District Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology, was invited as an expert.

When opening the meeting of the "round table", M.Potapenko spoke about how the academy began the fight against the spread of coronavirus infection in the spring of 2020, cited statistics on the number of vaccinated students and employees at BSAA, once again emphasized the need to vaccinate students.

In their turn, the participants of the "ForUm" club in their presentations gave statistics on the spread of coronavirus and the rate of vaccination in the world and in the Republic of Belarus. Liza Shestakova, a student of the 2nd year of the Business and Law faculty, elaborated on the vaccines that currently exist and the principles of their action. Now in our country a person can be vaccinated with the following drugs: the Russian Sputnik Light (one dose) and Sputnik V (two doses) and the Chinese vaccine Sinopharm (two doses).

R.V.Prudnikova answered in detail all the questions that were raised by those present, and tried to dispel doubts and possible fears about vaccination. She also noted that in Gorki district the number of vaccinated people is higher than the national average and is 38.2%.

As you know, vaccination against COVID-19 is a crucial means of combating the pandemic, which protects against severe forms of disease and death. It should be especially emphasized that vaccines protect both the vaccinated and others.

It is hoped that the round table discussion has helped young people to take a different look at the problem of the spread of coronavirus infection, to hear the necessary information, which will allow them to make an important, socially responsible decision.
