«Memory of open pages»
The exhibition “Memory of Open Pages” finished its work in BSAA D.Novikov Library. The exhibition was dedicated to the 125th anniversary of D.Novikov, BSSR Honoured Worker of Culture, a permanent head of the library from 1920 to 1975. During the tutors’ classes the students had a chance to learn about the biography of this extraordinary man, his versatile activity in the Academy, as well as look through the books from a rare fund of late XIX – early XX centuries, and marvel at miniature editions the size of a match box.
Employees of the department for humanitarian and educational work took kare about those who like to receive information in electronic form. Video “The Legend Man” was posted for them on Academy’s web-site, telling about D.Novikov.
The Academy’s web site also represent a movie “Books and Roses” about the personality of D.Novikov. The idea, shooting, and editing of the film belong to Aleksander Yudin.
Besides, booklets, calendars, and bookmarks dedicated to this date were represented on the exhibition.
The exhibition once again proved the importance and significance of Demian Novikov in the history of the Academy, formation and development of the Academy’s library which now proudly bears his name.
