Students of the Accounting Faculty Practice-oriented Training at the Chamber of Auditors of the Republic of Belarus

Audit is nowadays an integral part of economic relations. The economic activity of organizations in a market economy is characterized by a wide field of economic risks. All relations and operations of economic entities are based on economic information about the financial situation of the organization, about the results of its economic activities and compliance with the legislation of the country. This information is reflected in the financial reporting of the organizations, it can be confirmed or incorrect for various reasons. The quality of this information, the analysis of economic risks is determined and confirmed by the audit opinion.

The body of self-government of audit organizations and auditors - individual entrepreneurs is the Audit Chamber of the Republic of Belarus, which is called upon to independently resolve issues related to its activities and those of the audit community.

The Board of the Audit Chamber is headed by Chairman Dmitry Sych, a certified auditor, managing partner of the Audit and Consulting Company of the Association of Certified Accountants and Auditors of Belarus, manager of the risk management department at the Belarusian representative office of the consulting company KPMG.

Dmitry Sych is the owner of the ACCA diploma in the field of financial reporting, as well as a certificate of a professional international accountant.

In the framework of the cooperation agreement between the Audit Chamber and the Faculty of Accounting, in 2021, for the first time, the students of the 2nd year, group 7 of the specialty "Accounting, Analysis and Audit"  Anastasia Shauro  and the 3rd year student,  group 6 of the specialty "Finance and Credit" Ekaterina Kovaleva  were sent to undergo their studying practice.

It should be noted that Anastasia Shauro  and Ekaterina Kovaleva are the students who throughout the entire period of study show a high level of knowledge.

During the period of practice in the Audit Chamber, Anastasia and Ekaterina studied the following issues: legislation on Audit activities in the Republic of Belarus, goals, tasks and functions, the main areas of activity of the Audit Chamber, the rights, duties and responsibilities of members of the Audit Chamber,etc.

Anastasia Shauro and Ekaterina Kovaleva  also processed and systematized data of regulatory and legal information related to audit activities in the Republic of Belarus. The information was provided on the website of the Chamber of Auditors in the section "Issues of application."

Igor Filinov, a specialist on external quality assessment of the Committee on External Quality Assessment, shared his experience in the field of audit with the students. Igor Filinov worked earlier as the head of the audit department of the "Midiya" company.

Such experience in the practice-oriented training of accounting and financial specialists at the Faculty of Accounting is very significant for their successful professional career. The acquired highly qualified knowledge in the special disciplines "Audit in the Agro-Industrial Complex," "Financial Control," "International Audit Standards," "International Financial Reporting Standards" and many others allow the students to successfully pass the qualification exam and become engaged in audit activities, which today are one of demanded and highly paid professions.
