Let’s help our agrarians

It is not a secret to anyone that there are not enough working hands in the rural areas at the time of the summer harvest. Everyone who decided to come and help is welcomed. After all, August is a hot time for grain growers: it is necessary to remove the grown crop in the shortest possible time. Every year, students come to the aid of farmers - young people who have recently left their villages in order to get an education and return to their small homeland after a few years as certified specialists.

The students of the Faculty of Agricultural Mechanization of our Academy did not stand aside. Ninety-six students of the third year are currently practicing in agricultural organizations of Mogilev and Vitebsk regions. Of these, 86 have licenses of tractor drivers, all the guys can work on tractors and harvesters, 52 of them have driver's licenses of categories "B" and "C."

In nine organizations there are student working teams, numbering 68 students.

So, in OJSC “Mayak Vysokoye”, a student team named after Hero of the Soviet Union D.N. Zhabinsky works on harvesting. Kondratenko Pavel is their leader.

Belarus is called blue-eyed country not only because of the large number of lakes. Belarusian flax have long been grown here. This is another important product of agriculture. Flax fields while flowering are like lakes created by caring hands of landowners. And in order for high-quality flax to reach consumers, all technological operations must be carried out on time. The students of mechanization faculty did not remain indifferent and came to the aid of the farmers. Four student teams work on the fields of flax plants at OJSC “Gorkilen”, OJSC “Orekhovsky Flax Plant”, OJSC “Shklovsky Flax Plant”, and OJSC “Verkhnedvinsky Flax Plant”.

The student working team named after the Hero of the Soviet Union A.K. Dovydenko is engaged in flax pulling at OJSC “Verkhnedvinsky Flax Plant”. The team commander is Pavel Rebel. Just look what kind of equipment are these guys trusted with in the farm.

Labor teams work for seven weeks from July 5 to August 28, 2021. And at the end of the practice, the guys are determined to continue working and finish harvesting, which was sown by our students this spring during the same practice at the sowing.

In addition to student groups, more than 150 students of the Faculty of Agricultural Mechanization work in farms throughout the Republic of Belarus. They preferred working on the fields of our country to vacations. The guys perform various types of work: they remove grain, transport the harvest to elevators, remove flax, in general, work tirelessly.

Andrei Petruchik, working during the holidays as a combine harvester at  harvester KZS-1218 Palesse GS12 in OJSC “Pokrovsky” in Kobrin district, has already grounded 500 tons of grain. He decided not to stop at this point. The young man has plans for 2000 tons of grain.

Viktor Shcherbakov, a 4th year student, also did not stay aside. He has been working as a combine harvester at the “Parizhskaya Sloboda” company for more than a year. He managed to establish himself not only as a good student, but also as an excellent combine operator who came to the aid of his fellow countrymen. When Viktor was a school student, he helped his father every summer: at first being a kid he just enjoyed riding a harvester, watching how grain spills out of a bunker. Then, in high school, he became an assistant harvester. Experience came, as he had learned a lot from his father. And for more than a year now he has been working independently. The fact that Viktor was entrusted with a new combine this year indicates what kind of spesialist he is. Every morning before work, the guy closely inspects his harvester, checks all the mechanisms, strives to ensure that there is no downtime in the field. He learned this from his father, who has been operating his harvester for the eighth year.

Look at the faces of these guys. Firm, confident look, courageous faces, strong hands, accustomed to holding the steering wheel. Here they are, the future owners of our land.

Our guys are respected for their hard work, for their responsibility, for careful attitude to technology and equipment. From morning to late evening, they work in the fields and at elevators. They don't have time to cool off. They need to feed the country. Today, it depends on our young men what the harvest of the country will be, and along with this, the wealth of each person.
