Meeting at the training ground

On hot summer days when, it seems, everything alive hides in the shadows and enjoys the long-awaited coolness, the training ground of the Faculty of Agricultural Mechanization is full of life. The students are having their training practice, mastering the skills of operating agricultural machinery in order to get the licence to drive tractors of various modifications in the near future.

So, on July 14, 2021, the sounds of  children's voices, ardent flooded laughter, and girlish twitter were added to the usual roar of engines. It seemed that the entire space was filled with the sounds of an ordinary school break, which caused nostalgic smiles on the faces of adults, masters of industrial training Maxim Logunov, Sergey Glazko, and the head of the training ground Alexei Stolyarov.

The schoolchildren of 3-4 grades from Gorki district, vacationing in the summer camp "Tourist" came on an excursion. Tanned cheerful kids filled the area around the tractors. Everyone wanted to touch the wheels heated in the sun, to look closer at details of agricultural machines, to find out what the mechanisms are necessary for.

A deputy dean for educational work of the faculty of agricultural mechanization Ivan Gavrilov helped the school students by conducting a tour around the training ground. He clearly explained the purpose of this or that unit, spoke about the possibilities of modern agricultural equipment. And when the children were allowed to climb into the cab of the car, and hold the tractor's steering whill - the were no limits to children's joy. Getting into the cab of the Belarus-3522 energy-intensive tractor was just a dream. Even the line of boys and girls appeared, because everyone wanted to feel like drivers of this beautiful tractor.

Inquisitive hands of the children managed to explore in the tractor everything that was amenable to exploration in a short time. It was only worth wondering about the ability of three educators not to lose sight of a single young technician, strictly monitor safety, and notice children's tricks in time.

The excursion made a strong impression on the children. And we hope that It will remain in  children's memory for a long time. And someone who knows will be touched to choose the future profession.

No less impressions junior school students received when visiting the Department of Ichthyology and Fish Farming. There was silence and peace.  Fish live here, fry develop, and they do not like noise. At the sight of children, curious fish swam closer and stuck their heads, which caused delight among the children.

And the bravest were able to hold the fish in their hands. Communication with wildlife makes each person better, kinder, nurtures a careful attitude to everything living.

Such excursions are useful for both children and academy workers. Communication with children reminds us who we live and work for, makes us think what we are going to leave this younger generation, what moral values we will inculcate.
