CONGRATULATIONS ON BELARUSIAN SCIENCE DAY!

Dear colleagues!

On January 31, our country celebrates the Belarusian Science Day. Agree that today you can safely argue with the statement of the Russian writer Anton  Chekhov: "there is no national science, as there is no national multiplication table". Back in 2007, speaking at the First Congress of Scientists of our country, the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the republic "took the first step in building an intellectual economy," the main driver of which was science. The Resolution of the Second Congress of Scientists, which was held three years ago, wrote: "Belarusian science has become a real productive force that has a positive impact on the quality of economic growth and long-term prospects for the development of the country". Special emphasis was placed on active interaction of university science in this process, which was reflected in the Strategy "Science and Technology: 2018-2040" adopted by the congress.

The staff of the academy, which worthily celebrated its 180th anniversary last year, has every reason for pride. After all, it was here, in the Gory-Gorki agricultural school, that the first steps were taken in agricultural education and in science. This also allowed BSAA to become today not only a leading agricultural university, but also a major research center. We have formed and successfully develop 16 scientific and pedagogical schools, which are headed by scientists who have gained fame far beyond the borders of the Republic of Belarus. The scale of research work is evidenced by the fact that over the past 10 years, 419 types of scientific and technical products have been created at the academy. They include 85 varieties and hybrids, 8 veterinary drugs, 47 new units and assemblies, 42 technologies, 219 production recommendations, 295 patents for a useful model, inventions and copyright certificates for varieties.

We do our best to let the authority of the BSAA grow as a center for agrarian science and education. We make a worthy contribution to scientific and technological progress that contributes to the development of the export-oriented sector of the economy. For this, we have created all the conditions.

Belarusian Science Day is a holiday of not only famous scientists, successors of the first scientific schools, but also of today's students, undergraduates, graduate students, passionate about research work and taking their first steps into science in this field. This is a holiday of those who prepares to defend their theses, who introduce modern scientific achievements into the educational process and into practical-oriented training of specialists.

I congratulate everyone on Belarusian Science Day! I wish you health, new ideas and discoveries, and an inexhaustible creative search.
