DEAR FRIENDS!

I think many of you were catching yourself thinking that this leap year, 2020,  would soon end. It turned out to be one of the most difficult and controversial in the recent history of our independent Belarus. This, as it is fashionable to say today, political, economic and social "turbulence", "warmed up" by the coronavirus pandemic, has affected many countries of the world according to the "domino principle". Protests, breaking up demonstrations, the use of special means by law enforcement forces... It was often difficult to determine from the picture on the television screen in which country all this took place. In the year of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory, the peoples who defeated fascism faced new challenges to the world...

Thanks to Belarusians, who did not support the screaming and vicious "opposition", our republic did not slide into the abyss of the "color revolution". Our republic has maintained and has been continuing for more than two decades the course towards stability pursued by the President strengthening and protecting the legitimate rights, freedoms and interests of its citizens. And on the international "circuit," as Alexander Lukashenko recently stated,... "in these conditions, we are, as before, aimed at strengthening mutually beneficial ties with all our foreign partners... Belarus is always ready to cooperate with those who respect the principles of mutual respect, sincerity and decency." Agree, on these principles, order is also based both in the country, and in each family.

Despite the negative shades of the outgoing year, it was a landmark year for the staff of the Belarusian State the Orders of the October Revolution and the Labor Red Banner  Agricultural Academy. We’ve properly celebrated the 180th anniversary of our elder of agrarian education and science. We continued the process of improving and strengthening the practice-oriented training of modern specialists. We were actively engaged in research activities and strengthening our physical infrastructure. All the huge "layer" of educational and ideological work carried out by our workers and students was aimed at creation.

These days, perhaps more than ever before, we are particularly excited about the New Year coming. According to ancient tradition, Italians in the last minutes of the outgoing year throw old furniture out the windows. I would like to wish us all resolutely get rid of everything that prevents us from living normally, feeling happy and demanded by the society.

Allow me, on behalf of the rector's office, to wish you a happy New Year of 2021. Let us wish together that it will bring stability, mutual respect, prosperity, peace and well-being to our common house, to Belarus.
